One Little Fox

Mike and I moved into our house with a solarium that allowed us to see the abundance of wildlife in our area. I had noticed a fox bopping across our lawn on a regular. One day, this little fox ,who I named Henri', boldly walked up to me within 6 feet!! Kinda freaked me out. But I started taking photos of him with my iPhone. I posted this magical visitor on FaceBook and social media. My husband, Mike , an amazing photographer took pity on my blurry photos and bought me a real camera to give me a chance at not posting Rorschach prints. My little Henri would come hang out just about every day and loved the camera and attention.

From there it's just snowballed. Fast forward 5 years and 2 camera upgrades later,  I filled a 2 terabyte computer with over 200,000+ tries at decent photos. I'm almost embarrassed to say how many were unusable. But through my neighborhood wildlife photography I found a way of sharing my deep connection to all the different species, There's been a series of fox families that have staked our land as theirs. It's ok, they still let us live here. And we also back up to 5 acres of wooded area.

So there are many species. We have The Bench out front that I still put peanuts and sunflower seeds and fresh water. We have foxes, raccoons, deer, possums, groundhogs and a skunk named Baxter, chipmunks and squirrels and a swath of different birds. I've seen 4 different species at a time having a nosh at The Bench. And there is even a family of flying squirrels in the Tulip Poplar.  My little Henri last visited about 9 months ago. I hope we meet again someday. Until then, there are a few young ones that have his same soul patch on their furry chins.

I hope you enjoy my offering. I've always had a deep connection to dogs, cats and horses. This immersion has just deepened my passion for wild buddies as well.
